Questions
Travel & Accommodations
Where should I stay?
We've arranged discounted room blocks at two hotels. Those arriving early to NYC are invited to stay at the Hyatt Place Times Square (May 23-29). Guests may book discounted rates at the TWA Hotel for our wedding for either one or two nights (May 29-31). Full booking links and details are on our Travel page.
What if I want to upgrade or change my room at the TWA?
Want more room to spread out? Email Danielle Puma at dpuma@twahotel.com directly — she's our contact at the hotel and can help with upgrades, room type changes, or any other special requests.
Schedule
What is happening throughout the weekend?
From a Friday family welcome dinner to a Sunday farewell breakfast, we've planned a full weekend of festivities — head to our Schedule page for the full rundown of times, locations, and who's invited to each event.
What time should I arrive at the venue?
Due to construction, we recommend budgeting some extra time for travel. If you're staying at the TWA on Saturday evening, plan to arrive at the hotel at 3:00 PM to check in and explore the Flight Center — it's a destination in itself. If you're not staying over, aim to arrive by 4:30 PM; the ceremony starts promptly at 5:00 PM. See the bottom of the Travel page for details about public transit and parking options.
Dress Code
What's the dress code for the ceremony and reception?
Semi-formal. Think cocktail attire — suits, dresses, something you'd be excited to wear to a celebration.
What's this about a 70's themed after-party outfit?
That's right! After the wedding, slip into a more casual 70s-inspired retro outfit — bell bottoms, sequins, disco energy, whatever gets you in the mood. Here's a mood board for inspiration.
Do I need a separate outfit for the tea ceremony?
Nope, what you're wearing for the main ceremony is totally fine. If you like dressing up, something Asian-inspired and festive is always a welcome addition.
Will any part of the day be outdoors?
No outdoor events — everything takes place inside the TWA Flight Center. If you're staying at the TWA, nothing is more than a 5-minute walk from your room.
Tea Ceremony
What is a tea ceremony?
The tea ceremony is an intimate Chinese tradition where we honor our parents, grandparents, and elders. Head over to our Tea Ceremony page for the full rundown of what it is, who's invited, and what to expect.
Kids and Childcare
Are children invited?
Absolutely — kids are welcome at the entire celebration, and we'll do our best to accommodate our little humans. If there's any special request, please let us know in advance.
Will childcare be available?
We won't have formal childcare on site, but there will be a dedicated childcare room adjacent to the Constellation Ballroom during the dinner reception for families who need a quiet spot.
Gift Registry
Is there a gift registry?
Your presence is really all we're asking for, but if you'd like to give something, we've set up a honeymoon fund and a nesting fund on our Registry page. Traditional gifts are welcome too — just reach out and we'll share some ideas.
Transportation
Where should I park if I'm driving?
We recommend one of two parking options: the TWA offers onsite valet parking for $80, and JFK Terminal 5 offers pre-booked parking just across the street for $59. Full details and booking links are on the Travel page.
Are rideshare easy to/from the TWA Hotel?
Yes, Uber and Lyft are easy to book to and from JFK. Expect a fare of roughly $75-100 to Manhattan.
RSVP & Communication
What if I need to change my RSVP?
Life happens — just send Ryan or Brandon a note directly and we'll sort it out.
What do I contact if I have questions or need help during the weekend?
Our day-of coordinator Justine is your go-to for anything logistics or venue related during the weekend. You can reach her at justine@thegettogetherevents.com.
